# Referrals

Every MoFo user gets a referral link. When someone you referred trades, you earn a share of the platform fee they pay. You're paid in SOL.

## Your link

`/ref` (🎁 Referral on the menu) shows your code, your link, your commission rate and your affiliate stats.

Anyone who starts the bot through your link is credited to you. **Credit is locked the first time they press Start**, so send the link before they sign up. A link used after that does nothing.

Your default code is 8 characters from an alphabet with no `0`, `1`, `I` or `O`. That way a code read aloud or retyped from a screenshot can't land on the wrong person.

## What you earn

You earn a share of the **platform fee** your direct referrals pay. That's a share of the fee, not of their trade size. The fee is 1% of each trade ($0.15 minimum, see [Fees](/fees.md)), so $100 of their trading produces a $1.00 fee, and your share comes out of that dollar.

**Your rate is shown on `/ref`** as "Direct commission: X% of copy-trade fees". The standard rate is **25%**:

You earn on **people you referred directly**. Nothing is paid on people *they* go on to refer.

Earnings come from every chain your referrals trade on: Solana, BSC, Robinhood Chain and Arc. Each earning is converted to SOL when it's booked:

* A fee paid in SOL converts exactly.
* A fee paid in another coin (USDC, BNB, ETH) converts at the SOL price when it's booked.

Once converted, your balance is fixed in SOL. Later moves in the SOL price change what it's worth in dollars, not how much SOL you have.

## Your stats

📊 **Your affiliate stats** on `/ref` shows:

* **Direct referrals**: how many people you referred, how many of them are trading, and the total fees they've generated.
* **Lifetime earned** and **Unclaimed**, in SOL with the approximate dollar value.

Notes you may see:

* *"N recent earnings are still being converted to SOL"*: new earnings waiting for a SOL price. They join your unclaimed balance once converted.
* *"Unclaimed excludes payouts already paid or in progress"*: what you've already claimed isn't counted again.
* A `+` after a count means there are more than the screen counted.

## Getting paid: `/claim`

`/claim` shows **🏦 Claim X SOL (\~$Y)** and the address it will go to. Tap **💸 Claim now** to send it. The receipt shows the amount and a Solscan link.

* **No verified address:** set one with `/address` first. Payouts only ever go to an address you've verified.
* **You just changed your address:** claims are paused for 24 hours after an address change. This delay stops someone who takes over your Telegram from cashing out.
* **Under $10:** the claim is refused and your balance keeps growing.
* **"Pending fee verification":** earnings from fees that haven't been collected yet aren't claimable until they are. They stay on your balance.
* **A brand-new address** needs to receive a tiny amount of SOL for account rent (about 0.00089 SOL) the first time it's paid.
* **If a payout doesn't confirm**, your balance is held rather than sent twice. Support resolves it and nothing is lost.

## What doesn't earn

* **Self-referral.** Your own trades never earn you a referral share.
* **Skipped and failed copies.** No fee was charged, so there's nothing to share.
* **Deposits.** You earn on trading fees, so a funded wallet that never trades earns nothing.

## Common questions

**Does my referral pay more because they used my code?** No. The fee is the same for everyone. Your share comes out of what MoFo keeps, not out of their pocket.

**Do I earn on people my referrals bring in?** No. You earn on the people you referred directly.

**Can I get paid in USDC or on another chain?** No. Referral payouts are in SOL, to your verified Solana address.
